Morgan Creek Capital Management (“Morgan Creek”) was founded in July 2004 by Mark W. Yusko, former Chief Investment Officer of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (“UNC”) Endowment. The core of the Morgan Creek investment team has worked together in a fiduciary capacity for many years managing one of the most complex endowment management programs in the country. Mr. Yusko and Managing Director Mike Hennessy were responsible for building the Investment Office and subsequent Management Company operations for the UNC Endowment, and they worked closely with the Investment Fund Board to develop investment policy, set goals and objectives, establish a strategic framework, select investment managers, and manage portfolio risk.

Nearly a quarter of the Morgan Creek investment team has endowment backgrounds at some of the top university programs in the country (Notre Dame, UNC, Duke and Stanford), while other members of the team have institutional and private wealth investment experience. Morgan Creek believes this combination of experiences has provided the firm with one of the strongest investment teams in the world.

Morgan Creek believes that they are first and foremost investors, not simply allocators of capital. As investors, they make active investment decisions to add value within our portfolios. These investment decisions and active asset allocations shift based upon their views of the economy and market environment.

Morgan Creek has 64 employees in offices around the world, including 27 investment professionals and is headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In addition, they have offices in New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Capvent was founded in 2000 and operates as a highly specialized institutional private equity fund and direct co-investor with both global and emerging Asia focused investment programs. Since inception, Capvent has evaluated more than 3,000 private equity funds globally and has invested over $1.2 Billion in more than 105 private equity funds that incorporate various investment strategies including buyout, mezzanine, growth, venture, distressed and turnaround, secondary and co-investments.

Dedicated to maintaining a research driven, value focused, and “alpha” return oriented approach, Capvent focuses strictly on the middle market. We favor regions and sub-sectors that are under-served with capital and offer solid potential for superior returns rather than the more common “beta” return approach that focuses on providing access to larger and marquee brand named funds.

As a local investor in the most active private equity markets, Capvent has offices in the United States (Chicago), Europe (Zurich – HQ), and Asia with three offices in India (Bangalore, Mumbai, Panaji) and one in Shanghai, China.
